After hours of waiting, we finally got to … do more waiting. To keep the kids entertained, a Clinton campaign staffer (with an uncanny resemblance to Tom Brady) tossed t-shirts to the crowd.
And after two separate sessions of t-shirt tossing, it was time for the main event. The event was supposed to start between 2:30 and 3:00. Hillary finally entered at about 4:20. She was introduced by Beth Arthur, the Arlington County Sheriff. Walter Tejada, the Arlington County Board Chairman and probably most important Latino in the state, was nowhere to be seen. I’m guessing he’s an Obama supporter
Hillary spoke for about 30 minutes. She covered healthcare, the cost of college, saving the middle class (I didn’t know we were at risk of losing our middle class), and Iraq. Her commitment to bring the troops home in 60 days got the biggest cheers. She also emphasized her ability to beat John McCain in this fall’s general election.
